ACV-sexymoxiemama.wordpress.com

I have been using Apple Cider Vinegar for many years as a great alternative to many household items. It was only recently that I discovered that raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (abbreviated as ACV) can be used in many other ways.

Used since 400 BC, there are many modern ways to incorporate Apple Cider Vinegar into your daily life from beauty care, household cleaning, and cooking. Below are 10 of the greatest and most uncommon uses for Apple Cider Vinegar that you may or may not have heard of. For best results use organic, unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar with “the Mother”. Crockpot Spicy Tomato Soup

Crockpot Spicy Tomato Soup sexymoxiemama.wordpress.com

It seems like this winter is lasting so much longer than winters of the past which means cold and flu season is sticking around longer as well. This winter, since the husband and I are following a Paleo lifestyle, we have ended up eating vastly diverse and hearty meals that include fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and coconut oil–many we had never tried before this year.

In winters past, I would devour bowls of canned soups. Soup just seems to be my winter go-to quick meal. To be honest, this year I have not been able to have as much soup as the canned soup is filled with sodium, preservatives, and questionable ingredients.

So I have been on a search for interesting soup recipes. This recipe is a crowd pleaser for sure. This spicy tomato soup is so easy to prepare and cooks on low in the crockpot in as little as 6 hours. Continue reading

Easy Crockpot Roasted Turkey Breast

SexyMoxieMama Easy Crockpot Turkey BreastNeed a quick, delicious home cooked meal? Try this great recipe for a turkey breast roast in the crockpot.

If you’re like me, you really don’t know what a turkey breast roast is. Turkey breast roast is heart-healthy, low-fat and protein-rich.  A turkey breast roast is the juicy white breast meat along with some dark turkey meat that is packaged together in a net. The net holds all the meat “pieces” together. It is great on salads, sandwiches, or as a main course.

Most come with a  gravy packet as well. Since I am doing Paleo, I  had to forgo the gravy. I have modified the traditional turkey breast roast recipe to make it more Paleo and low carb-friendly. This is sure to be a crowd pleaser for a casual weeknight dinner or for a more formal Sunday dinner. Continue reading

One thing that I have learned since beginning to eat a Paleo-style diet is the modern American diet lacks flavor. So many recipes that I have tried during the course of the past 30 days have been so flavorful and filling that I am beginning to wonder why more people do not eat this way. Plus I’m beginning to not even miss grains, dairy, or sugar which is always a plus.

When I started Paleo I thought it would be a breeze. After all, I had pretty good willpower and success with both the Atkins and HCG diets. But this time I am struggling a bit. Perhaps it is because I’m working out for 45 minutes a day or maybe it’s because I’m missing out on IHOPs All You Can Eat Pancakes (I’m totally feeling sorry for myself on this one-ha!).

Homemade Teething Biscuits

Teething Biscuits-SexyMoxieMama

My little girl is trying to cut her first two teeth. Some babies, like my oldest child, did great with teething, but my middle guy and baby girl, not so much.

Baby girl is constantly chewing on her hands, or anything she could get a hold of. She is persistently irritable, refuses to sleep, gets ill, and just plain stopped being her happy, sweet, funny self. I know once the teeth pop through she will start feeling better. Until then, we are in for some long days (and nights).
