The hot summer days are upon us. Remember the sweet lemonade of our youth? Now, the refreshing taste of lemonade is the perfect summer cooler with a bit of variety using an unconventional herb–thyme.
Available all year round, thyme is an herb from the mint family. It has a light lemon smell and a strong minty taste making it a perfect addition to iced cold lemonade.
- 12 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice;
- 8 cups cold water;
- a few ice cubes;
- 4 sprig fresh thyme per serving;
- Combine the lemon juice, water and ice cubes.
- Stir well and serve with the thyme sprig.
You can also add a little bit of spirits to taste for a refreshing summertime cocktail
